The intervention is located in the Roman area adjacent to the Monti Parioli, along the continuation of the axis that leads from the Verano Cemetery to the bend of the Tiber River. In this area, of significant architectural and urban value, some of the most important buildings in Rome are located, although there is a lack of spaces for the citizens.
Therefore, the intervention is tied not only to the idea of exploiting and enhancing the existing volumes but also and above all to the possible and eventual reinterpretation of spaces for the community of the neighborhood and to a different and more complex definition of the role of the building within the social and territorial reality of the neighborhood.
Finally, the important size of the lot allows for a multiplicity of approaches that make it possible to incorporate functions and spaces currently lacking for the community. The building is one of the classic structures of the Monte Amiata Society and, although it may appear almost secondary today compared to the buildings in the area at the foot of the Monti Parioli, it represents an interesting moment in post-war Italian architecture.
